Dublin 2019 – Kraken

Ink drawing with watercolour and digital colouring.

The very first art I produced for the Dublin 2019 bid. The Kraken is attacking the Convention Centre Dublin (CCD), the venue for the convention, from the River Liffey.  I blogged a little about this image here and here. I digitally coloured my line drawing using a combination of watercolour textures and photoshop.

This was used in the bid’s first promotional poster, and it made a high profile appearance (with the notable and hilarious addition of musical notes) at the Dublin 2019 Philharmonic concert. A slice of this image also features on one of the official t-shirt designs.
